This philosophy has now taken concrete shape through two major insurance initiatives and a new digital registration platform. The scheme therefore addresses a very practical dimension of professional life. The second major initiative is the Sushrut Security Scheme, providing Professional Indemnity Cover of up to ₹10 lakh. Dr Shukla’s decision to incorporate Professional Indemnity into a collective security framework demonstrates his focus on protecting dentists against risks that may arise in the course of their professional responsibilities. The larger objective is to allow dentists to practise with greater confidence while strengthening the overall professional ecosystem. Instead of expecting every dentist to independently purchase multiple forms of protection, the Council has created a framework through which dentists can come together under a larger group arrangement. The first phase of the initiative saw policies distributed to 15 selected dentists, formally beginning what could potentially become a much larger collective security network. The Council also launched a new digital registration portal, designed to make registration and Council related services more convenient, transparent and accessible. Together, the initiatives create three interconnected pillars: Security • Professional Protection • Digital Governance This combination reflects an effort to build a Dental Council that is not only regulatory, but also modern, accessible and responsive to the needs of its professionals. The initiative received appreciation from Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, who acknowledged the concept and indicated that such social security and Professional Indemnity mechanisms could potentially be replicated elsewhere in the country. The recognition is significant because it reinforces the possibility that the model developed under Dr Chandresh Shukla’s leadership could have relevance beyond Madhya Pradesh. If expanded successfully, it could potentially offer thousands of dentists access to structured professional protection. The objective is not to dilute the regulatory role of the Council, but to complement it with practical initiatives that strengthen the profession itself. Under his leadership, the Madhya Pradesh State Dental Council is attempting to establish an environment in which dentists can feel protected against unforeseen personal risks, better prepared for professional and medico legal risks, more connected to their professional institution, able to access Council services digitally, and part of a larger and stronger professional community.
