Lucknow | Uttar Pradesh — Starting a new chapter in India’s infrastructure potential, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today solemnly inaugurated one of Asia’s largest greenfield projects – ‘Ganga Expressway’. Completed in a record time of just 3.5 years, this ‘super highway’ is not just a road, but an economic lifeline that will change the fate of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
A new synonym for speed, Ganga Expressway is an engineering marvel of modern India. This expressway will reduce the travel distance between Meerut and Prayagraj from 11 hours to just 6 hours. As a result, the gap between the prosperity of the West and the potential of the East will now be bridged in the blink of an eye.
Adani Enterprises’ road construction company Adani Road Transport Limited (ARTL) has showcased the strong potential of the private sector by constructing 80% (464 km) of this project. The hard work of over 12,000 Karma Yogis is visible today on this strong road of development.
This is the first corridor in the country where an AI-enabled camera system will be deployed round the clock, which will ensure the safety of passengers by informing in advance of incidents like accidents. That is, ‘Artificial Intelligence’ has been used as a security shield.
Another special feature of this expressway is that the 3.5 km airstrip built at Shahjahanpur will provide ’emergency landing’ facilities for the fighter jets of the Indian Air Force, which will further strengthen India’s national security.
The Ganga Expressway is not just for running vehicles, but to open new doors for employment and investment. According to the UP government’s estimates: In the next 10 years, it will create 3 lakh new jobs and add a whopping Rs. 1 lakh crore to the state’s GDP. Not only this, there will be a huge saving of Rs. 25,000-30,000 crore annually in logistics costs.
This expressway is like a highway for industrial and spiritual development. It will connect 519 villages in 12 districts, which will give a boost to industries under 11 state-of-the-art industrial corridors, while on the other hand, it will also open new doors for ‘spiritual tourism’ by making it easier to reach holy places like Prayagraj and Varanasi.
The Ganga Expressway is a living example of the speed and power of ‘New India’. This project proves that when strong willpower and modern technology combine, the river of development not only flows, but runs at full speed.
