Gujarat, GIFT City Sign Rs.1317-Crore Deal for Global Data Cable Landing Station

Sharjah-based Henox IT to build a ₹1317-crore cable landing station in Anand district, boosting Gujarat’s push for hyperscale data centres and AI-driven digital infrastructure.

Gandhinagar | Gujarat —  A significant step has been taken toward making Gujarat the destination of choice for hyperscale and enterprise data centres by increasing data centre and IT infrastructure development in the state. For this purpose, MOUs were signed between the State Government, GIFT City, and Sharjah’s Henox IT & Data Centers Pvt. Ltd. in the presence of Chief Minister  Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

This Data Cable Landing Station Project, with a potential investment of approximately ₹1317 crore, will be established in Dhuvaran of Anand District and will create over 1300 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

After signing the MoU at the Regional AI Impact Conference in Gandhinagar, Henox IT’s CEO Masood M. Sharif Mahmood and Rasheed Al Ali, along with Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, the UAE Ambassador to India, held a meeting with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the Minister of Science and Technology.

Chief Minister expressed confidence that this CLS project will accelerate the growth of AI, machine learning, startup platforms, and the GCC ecosystem in Gujarat through faster and stronger international connectivity in the coming days. He stated during the meeting that Gujarat will become an important gateway for global data traffic, strengthening the nation’s digital independence capacity.

The CEO of Henox IT & Data Centers highlighted the significance of this cable landing station, stating that it will function as an important model connecting India with the global internet infrastructure. The centre will also serve as a backbone for high-bandwidth applications required for smart cities.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department  Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department Mamta Verma, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister  Avantika Singh, Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey, and Secretary of the Science and Technology Department P. Bharathi.
