SGCCI & Surat Embroidery Association to Host SITME-2026 in January

Surat | Gujarat — The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Surat Embroidery Association will jointly organize ‘SITME-2026’ at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sarsana in January 2026. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the SGCCI and the Surat Embroidery Association on Thursday. 

SGCCI president  Nikhil Madrasi and the president of Surat Embroidery Association, Manohar Tekchandani signed the MoU.

Madrasi said that while Surat’s textile industry has traditionally had its own identity at the global level, ‘CITME-2026’ will provide an important platform to promote Surat’s textile machinery, embroidery machinery and related industries at the national and international levels. This exhibition will help industries to directly connect with new technology, innovation and business opportunities. Leading textile machinery manufacturers, technology providers and traders from India and abroad will participate in this exhibition and entrepreneurs from Surat will get a direct opportunity.

Surat Embroidery Association President Manohar Tekchandani said that the embroidery industry is an integral part of the economy of Surat. Through SITME- 2026, we will be able to give a new direction to this sector. This exhibition will provide a golden opportunity to increase connectivity between international buyers, technology suppliers and local industries.

On this occasion, the officials of both the organizations expressed confidence that this exhibition will give Surat a stronger place on the map of the global textile industry and will prepare all the industries, big and small, for global competition.

The SGCCI is continuously striving to further advance the embroidery industry of Surat in the field of technology and take it to the global level. The  Surat Embroidery Association delegation along with the SGCCI president and vice-president Ashok Jirawala, are also going to visit the exhibition at CISMA 2025 (China International Sewing Equipment Exhibition) being held in Shanghai, China on September 24, 25 and 26, 2025.
