Four including two students killed in triple accident in Gujarat

Morbi | Gujarat —- On Friday night, tragedy struck on the Maliya-Surajbari bridge near Morbi as a series of collisions led to a devastating fire, claiming the lives of two young students and two others. The incident, which occurred around 11 pm, involved a container overturning and subsequent collisions that engulfed vehicles in flames.

The triple accident unfolded on the Morbi-Kutch highway, near the Surajbari bridge close to Haripar village in Maliya Miyana taluka. It began with a container overturning, followed by a tanker colliding with the container. In the ensuing chaos, an Ertiga car also collided with the tanker, resulting in a catastrophic fire.

Tragically, four individuals lost their lives in the inferno, including two students and the driver and cleaner of the tanker. The deceased students, identified as Rudra Gopalbhai Gujaria (15) and Jaimeen Jagdishbhai Babaria (17), were residents of Mithi Rohar, Gandhidham, and were enrolled at Ahir Boarding School in Junagadh. The third victim, Shivram Mangalram Nai from Bikaner, Rajasthan, also perished in the accident. One additional person remains unidentified.

Seven others, who were traveling in the Ertiga car, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital in Samkhiyari for urgent medical attention.

Authorities from Maliya Taluka Police and Morbi District swiftly responded to the scene upon receiving reports of the accident. Efforts were made to clear the highway and shift the accident vehicles aside to restore traffic flow. The bodies of the deceased have been scheduled for postmortem examinations in Rajkot, while investigations are underway to identify the driver and cleaner of the tanker involved.
