Surat Lawyer Stabbed; BJP Councillor Accused

Surat, Gujarat — A chilling knife attack on lawyer Abhishek Rajput near Jogani Mata temple road has sent shockwaves through the diamond city of  Surat, with the grievously injured legal professional directly accusing a prominent BJP councillor of orchestrating the assault. The incident, marked by its brazenness and the swift accusation, has immediately ignited political controversy in the city.

Abhishek Rajput, bleeding profusely from stab wounds, was rushed to the hospital following the attack by two unidentified assailants. While going to the hospital in his car,  a video released by the injured lawyer went viral, laying bare a stunning allegation against BJP Corporator Amit Singh Rajput.

In the harrowing video, a visibly distressed Rajput stated, “I was attacked with a knife by two unidentified men. All of them, Amit Singh and Pankaj Singh, are my elder brothers, and my brother-in-laws have planned the attack on me. And they stabbed me with a knife on my leg. I know that I am attacked purposefully. In this, Amit Singh Rajput, who is the BJP councillor, has conspired this brutal attack on me.” The direct and unreserved accusation has cast a dark shadow over the local political landscape.

However, BJP Corporator Amit Singh Rajput has vehemently denied all claims, dismissing them as “baseless.” Speaking to reporters, he stated, “I was busy in worship at home at the time of the attack. The lawyer’s allegations are baseless. This incident is being presented with a political color.” His denial sets the stage for a potentially protracted and contentious investigation.

Initial police reports suggest the attack was premeditated. The assailants reportedly arrived in a car, launched their assault with a sharp object, and swiftly fled the scene, indicating a well-planned operation. Surat police have taken the matter with utmost seriousness, immediately launching a comprehensive investigation. Authorities are meticulously examining CCTV footage from the area and conducting technical analyses to identify the attackers and uncover the precise motive behind this alarming incident.
