Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Legislative Assembly recently invited 15 organizations actively working on environmental conservation across the state. Representing Bharuch district, the Adani Foundation Dahej was the sole organization selected for recognition.

The foundation was honored in the presence of Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Forest and Environment Minister Mulubhai Bera, Minister of State Mukeshbhai Patel, and Principal Secretary Jayanti Ravi for its remarkable contributions to environmental sustainability.

For the past two to three years, the Adani Foundation has been actively collaborating with the Forest Department, Bharuch, to carry out extensive tree plantation drives across Dahej Port and surrounding areas. Recognizing this consistent effort in afforestation, the foundation was chosen as Bharuch’s representative at the assembly.

During the visit, representatives had the opportunity to observe the proceedings of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and engage in discussions with key dignitaries on strategies to combat climate change.

Yogesh Meghpara, Assistant Manager of Adani Foundation Dahej, shared insights into the foundation’s green initiatives, emphasizing its commitment to Chairman Gautam Adani’s mission of planting 100 million trees. He also highlighted the impact of distributing 30,000 fruit-bearing trees in Bharuch, which has benefited local communities and enhanced biodiversity.

A noteworthy outcome of this initiative has been its direct benefit to tribal farmers in Netrang taluka, where more than 40 farmers have successfully developed horticulture on their lands. By providing these farmers with fruit-bearing trees, the Adani Foundation has enabled them to achieve self-reliance while contributing to environmental conservation.

Appreciating these efforts, Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary felicitated the Adani Foundation Dahej team with a memento. The event served as an inspiration for other organizations and individuals to adopt similar sustainable practices.
