Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting green energy in Gujarat’s industrial sector, aligning with India’s larger vision for sustainable development. Speaking at the Annual Meet 2025 organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Gujarat, he emphasized the need for industries to transition towards renewable energy sources.

Addressing a gathering of industry leaders and stakeholders at the event themed ‘Developed Gujarat – Powering a Prosperous India’, CM Patel stated that Gujarat has already made significant strides in promoting green energy in the agricultural sector. He now urged industries to follow suit, ensuring an eco-friendly industrial ecosystem.

A Green Vision for Gujarat’s Industrial Growth

The Chief Minister highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country has adopted a proactive approach to fostering green energy production and investment. Patel noted that half of the total Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed at the last Vibrant Gujarat Summit were focused on the green energy sector, showcasing the state’s commitment to sustainable industrialization.

He further announced that the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is being transformed into a hub for green energy-based industries, making it a model for future industrial zones across the country.

Industry Collaboration for a Sustainable Future

CM Patel urged industries to support the government’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,” ensuring that even the smallest businesses and individuals benefit from Gujarat’s industrial growth. He expressed confidence that with industry collaboration, Gujarat-made products could dominate the global market with their superior quality.

CII Leadership on Gujarat’s Industrial Development

During the event, CII Gujarat Chairperson Swati Sangalawalkar praised the state government’s business-friendly policies, stating that GIFT City, Dholera SIR, and PM Mitra Park have emerged as prime investment destinations. She emphasized that the CII, with its 600 dedicated members, is working closely with the government to drive industrial expansion and create new opportunities.

CII Chairman Kulin Lalbhai also spoke about Gujarat’s transformation under PM Modi’s leadership, highlighting the state’s emergence as an economic powerhouse. He reaffirmed that the government’s commitment to industrial problem-solving and ease of doing business has solidified Gujarat’s reputation as a leading center for industrial development.

The Road Ahead for Gujarat’s Green Energy Transition

As part of the discussions, industry leaders deliberated on various schemes and policies to promote sustainable growth. The CM emphasized that green energy is no longer an option but a necessity for industries, ensuring Gujarat remains at the forefront of India’s economic development while minimizing environmental impact.
