Gandhinagar : Chief Minister  Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the ‘Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2025’ at the Sabarmati Riverfron on Friday.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Health Minister Rushikesh Patel and Minister of State for Cooperation Jagdish Vishwakarma. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries visited the flower show, admiring its numerous attractions. The detailed flower sculptures garnered praise from everyone present, including the Chief Minister.

As part of the event, the Chief Minister launched the Tree Census and unveiled the Mission Three Million Trees Coffee Table Book. This world-class flower show in Ahmedabad beautifully showcases a harmonious fusion of Indian culture and natural elegance.

This ‘Rangotsav’ (annual celebration of colours) draws nature and culture enthusiasts from across India, offering a blend of visual splendour and unforgettable experiences. The exquisite flower displays, enriched by human artistry, leave every visitor captivated. Beyond its decorative appeal, the flower show serves as a vital platform for fostering environmental awareness and sustainability. Ahmedabad city reinforces its dedication to biodiversity and eco-friendly practices through this initiative. The event actively involves environmentally conscious people and advocates, transforming it into a multifaceted initiative that weaves cultural heritage with nature’s preservation.

It represents the vision of a greener India, laying the foundation for a sustainable future. In 2024, the Flower Show attracted nearly 20 lakh visitors. With enhanced offerings this year, an even larger turnout is anticipated. Last year’s event earned a Guinness World Record for its remarkable 400-meter-long flower wall.

The ‘Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2025’ has been divided into six zones, featuring over 10 lakh flowers, more than 50 species, and over 30 sculptures. In Zone 1, the growth and development of the country are depicted* through symbolic statues showcasing India’s economic progress and vision for a green future. Highlights include elephants, lotuses, vibrant arches, canopy clusters, the Konark Chakra, a representation of 23 years of good governance, fighting bulls, and attractions for children. Zone 2 emphasizes inclusiveness and sustainability*, beautifully presenting the spirit of India’s unity in diversity alongside a focus on environmental sustainability.

Key attractions include sculptures of tigers, peacocks, greater flamingos, sable camels, Asiatic lions, and canyon walls. Zone 3 illustrates the path towards a sustainable future,* reflecting India’s global leadership in addressing challenges such as global warming and climate change. Unique features like butterfly, seagull, mermaid, and flower fall walls make this zone particularly captivating.

The ‘Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2025’ beautifully showcases India’s culture, heritage, natural beauty, and aspirations for the future. Zone 4 reflects India’s rich cultural and historical legacy*, featuring displays like the Brihadeshwar Temple, Nandi, Manastambh, UNESCO Globe, and Garba, which celebrate the nation’s glorious past.

Zone 5 highlights the natural beauty of India*, with Hornbill and Flower Valley standing out as key attractions. Zone 6 symbolizes India’s forward-looking journey*, with displays such as Hosting the Olympics 2036, Gandhiji’s Three Monkeys, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The Unity Blossom, and Mission Three Million Trees – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, embodying a hopeful vision of a brighter tomorrow. This year, following the suggestions of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi (during his visit last year) public participation has been emphasized. This has led to a collaborative effort, with various independent corporate and government entities joining as partners in the flower show.

This year, visitors can make use of specially designed audio guides to learn more about the flowers, sculptures, and zones by scanning QR codes available throughout the flower show. A special souvenir shop has been set up, providing visitors with the opportunity to take home a beautiful souvenir. Additionally, the nursery, along with various stalls and food counters, remains a popular attraction, as it has been in previous years.
