Bengaluru : Mehndi Maestro Nimisha Parekh Shines as Panelist at ‘Bhaav-The Expression Summit 2024’

Bengaluru : Nimisha Parekh, an internationally acclaimed mehndi artist hailing from the diamond city of Surat, added a vibrant touch to the ‘Bhaav-The Expression Summit 2024,’ a prestigious event organized by the Art of Living International Centre under the auspices of the World Forum for Art and Culture in Bengaluru. This three-day extravaganza, held from January 26 to January 28, brought together over 100 celebrities and artists from diverse fields, both nationally and internationally.

The summit accorded significant prominence to Mehndi art, marking the first instance of its kind on such a global platform. Nimisha Parekh, known for her innovative contributions to Mehndi art, was bestowed with the honor of representing this traditional form at the event. Renowned Kathak artist Sunilbhai Sunkara, the moderator of the program, felicitated Nimisha Parekh, acknowledging her remarkable contributions to the art form.

The summit, coordinated by Jalpa Thakkar, the Local Coordinator of Art of Living and a Teacher of Happiness Course, attracted a diverse audience of around 800-1000 people, with an additional 15,000 viewers tuning in live. During the event, Nimisha Parekh engaged in a one-to-one interaction, sharing insights into Mehndi art, its cultural significance, and the innovative strides she has made in advancing the craft.

Overcoming challenges, she introduced unique elements, including the incorporation of Warli art into Mehndi, showcasing her ability to fuse traditional art forms seamlessly.

One of her notable contributions includes the introduction of Varli patterns into Mehndi, a pioneering move that has garnered acclaim. Beyond traditional applications, Nimisha embarked on a new venture—creating intricate Mehndi art on canvas—a venture that has sparked conversations and resonated well with art enthusiasts.

Recently, Nimisha Parekh showcased her innovative Mehndi art themed around Ayodhya at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Mohotsav, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
