SVPI airport honored with Gold Award for Energy Efficiency at SEEM Awards

Ahmedabad :  Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) was recognized for its exceptional energy-efficient initiatives and received the gold award under the Facility Category in the Airport Sector at the SEEM (Society of Energy Engineers and Managers) Awards held in New Delhi on 21st September.

The Ahmedabad airport received this award for its numerous sustainable & energy-efficient initiatives, by installation of advanced cooling towers which conserve electricity & water, energy efficient chillers and low energy consuming air conditioning system, Installation of 5-star Air conditioning units helped reducing electricity consumption up to 15 % in air conditioning.

Additionally, there are variable speed fans installed at Terminal 2 AHUs (A/C indoor units), by which air conditioner fan’s speed varies according to the temperature, occupancy sensors for light control in office areas, timers for street lighting, aerators in water taps to optimize water consumption, UV system in air conditioning to reduce electrical consumption as well improved air quality which contributed to reduce power consumption.
