Surat : The Khedut Samaj Gujarat (KSG) has lodged a formal complaint with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, urging him to take stringent action against several police officers, including Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) BM Chaudhary, and Rander Police Inspector, as well as approximately 40-50 policemen. The demand comes in response to the alleged illegal sealing of the KSG office and the detention of its president and other members.

In a letter addressed to the Gujarat Chief Minister, KSG has detailed the significant damage inflicted upon their organization due to these actions. While KSG President Jayesh Patel and other members were in police custody, their office located at the Purshottam Farmers Cooperative Ginning and Processing Society Limited’s campus in Jahangirpura was reportedly demolished, resulting in substantial losses, including damage to furniture and the loss of crucial documents.

KSG has emphasized that the demolition took place despite the fact that the matter was sub-judice and pending before the Surat Civil Court in an ongoing dispute with Purshottam Farmers over rent. The organization alleges that the police officers acted unlawfully, influenced by political leaders and society office-bearers, thereby violating the Cooperative Act.

Jayesh Patel, President of KSG, expressed his concerns, stating, “We expect strict action to be taken against the police officers involved in this unlawful act against KSG. KSG is the oldest organization dedicated to the welfare of farmers in Gujarat. The organization remains impartial and does not align with any political party, solely focusing on benefiting farmers.”
