Mumbai : Informa Markets in India, India’s largest B2B event organiser, is poised to host the 17th edition of Food Ingredients (Fi India) and the 5th edition of the colocated ProPak India to Mumbai this year at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from the 17th to the 19th of August 2023. The dynamic expos serve as the ideal business-to-business platform, uniting the food, health, packaging, and processing sectors under one gorgeous canopy. Fi India provides an unparalleled chance to acquire quality ingredients and commercialise innovations to meet changing consumer preferences and industrial needs. Simultaneously, ProPak India exposes a world of cutting-edge processing technology and packaging solutions, including packaging materials, machinery, equipment, labelling solutions, automation technologies, and more.

The Fi India exhibition is projected to attract over 200 exhibitors and 1000 companies. While Propak, now in its fifth year, is set to showcase 300+ brands from major corporations.

The All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA), Association of Food Scientists & Technologists (INDIA) (AFSTi Mumbai Chapter), Health Foods and Dietary Supplements Association (HADSA), and Chamber for Advancement of Small and Medium Businesses (CASMB), Indian Flexible Packaging & Folding Carton Manufacturers Association (IFCA); Authentication Solution Providers’ Association (ASPA); and SIE all lend their support to the exhibitions.

Mr Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, commented on the announcement of Fi India and ProPak India, saying, “The food ingredients market in India is thriving, driven by a diverse culinary heritage and increasing consumer demand for high-quality, innovative, natural, and organic ingredients.” Similarly, the food packaging business is critical to guaranteeing food safety and cleanliness. With mounting concerns, there is an increasing need for efficient, technologically sophisticated packaging solutions that maintain product integrity and avoid contamination. The industry is also shifting towards environmentally friendly products and adopting recycling and waste management practises. These sectors work together to support India’s thriving food business, adapting to customers’ changing demands and regulatory needs.”

“We are looking forward to the upcoming editions of Fi India and ProPak India because they hold a lot of promise for industry professionals.” These exhibits provide a one-of-a-kind venue for showcasing innovations and gaining vital insights into the ever-changing food and packaging industry. This year’s major objective is to use India’s enormous and diversified raw material base for the food processing industries, a market that is estimated to reach $470 billion by 2025. By displaying the most recent technologies, we want to meet the industry’s desire for sustainable packaging solutions. We gladly await the industry’s assistance in making this event another resounding success, furthering the sector’s growth and development.” He went on to say.

This year’s ProPak India exhibition will focus not only on the current trends, but also on sustainability and eco-friendly packaging practises. The addition of the “sustainability square” as a distinct space inside the event shows a strong commitment to addressing the current demand for sustainable packaging solutions. ProPak India will also include conferences, seminars, technical workshops, and buyer-seller B2B meetings.

Sugar-free, gluten-free, fortified, protein-packed, millet-based, vegan alternatives, Indian tastes, and sea-sourced superfoods will be highlighted at the Fi India exhibition. Popular sugar substitutes include mushrooms and dates, as well as plant-based protein and fermented meals. The International Year of Millets project is focusing on natural ingredients, fiber-rich alternatives, and promoting millets. The exhibition will include the first edition of the Fi Awards, a three-day informative conference, an Innovative Product Showcase Zone, live demos, and a FundQuest.
