Bengaluru/New Delhi : The first fleet of Fresh Bus electric buses will begin service between Bengaluru and Tirupati today. Fresh Bus’s cutting-edge electric buses provide a forward-thinking option for eco-friendly, low-cost, and hassle-free interstate bus travel in India. The brand-new Fresh Bus is a 12-meter-long, high-end coach that can fit 45 or more passengers. The inaugural rate for riding the Bengaluru-Tirupati route on the new and improved Fresh Bus is only Rs 399. Later this month, the business will also begin serving the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor.

The range of the Fresh Bus is 400 kilometres at a top speed of 90 kilometres per hour, and a full charge can be achieved in about two hours. The cabin of the Fresh Bus is outfitted with a number of cutting-edge amenities that aim to replicate the luxury of a first-class airline cabin for passengers using long-distance buses in India. With amenities like noise-cancelling, fully air-conditioned cabins, comfortable seating, uniformed and welcoming staff, 45-degree recline, best-in-class seat pitch, IoT-enabled real-time air-quality and temperature monitoring, amenity kits, personal charging docks, Wi-Fi, real-time tracking, and more, the smart buses hope to elevate the bus travel experience.

With tight safety requirements, vehicle inspections, and well-trained drivers, Fresh Bus seeks to revolutionise bus travel in India by prioritising customer experience and passenger safety. Drivers for Fresh Bus undergo extensive background checks, including breathalyser and drug tests, as well as training and quality of driving evaluations on a regular basis. The e-bus service’s Fresh Bus app and call centre are open round-the-clock to give instant help to passengers. Regenerative braking, temperature sensors in batteries, closed-circuit television, medical kits, on-board fire extinguishers, and pink seats for female passengers are just some of the safety measures included on the Fresh Bus fleet.

Mr. Nitin Gadkari, India’s Minister of Road Transport and Highways, praised the inauguration of the Fresh Bus. Keeping with the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, he congratulated the team behind Fresh Bus and ixigo for their creative work. Fresh Bus aims to become “a professional, modern, pan-India sustainable inter-city bus operator.” “Electric Vehicles are the wave of the future in transport, and cutting-edge professional bus companies like Fresh Bus will usher in a new era of affordable, environmentally friendly bus travel. There will be more opportunities for our country’s bright young IT workers, and the electric vehicle ecosystem as a whole will benefit. This demonstrates that sustainable development goals may be met alongside those of fostering economic expansion.

With an emphasis on premium quality and customer experience, Fresh Bus aims to upgrade the bus-riding experience for everyone, as stated by the company’s founder, Sudhakar Reddy Chirra. In the first phase, we will roll out 24 electric buses in the Bengaluru-Tirupati and Hyderabad-Vijayawada regions this month. Our next step is to launch our services on the most popular 100 routes across India, including travel to and from major cities like New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune, and many more. There will be approximately 4,000 acres of forest saved by the time we reach our goal of 1,000 electric buses and 100 charging stations throughout India in 2026.

The Bengaluru-based EV bus startup had raised ₹26 Crores in seed funding from ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Limited) earlier this year. Unlike existing inter-city bus aggregators, Fresh Bus is a full stack technology-enabled smart bus operator, building and owning the customer experience for travelers end-to-end across finding, tracking and booking their electric intercity buses via the FreshBus website.
