Ahmedabad: In order to develop and carry out a comprehensive STEM Leadership Programme, the Adani Foundation has partnered with the National Institute of Education (NIE) International, which is a part of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. As part of this partnership, facilitated by the Temasek Foundation (Singapore), 42 educators from six schools supported by the Adani Foundation will receive training to become master trainers in an effort to cultivate STEM leadership in the Indian setting. The program’s duration is three years (from April 2023 to December 2025), and it consists of six distinct stages. Beginning on April 14 and running through April 16, the first stage is currently under way.

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, eight trainers from NIE will take care of all but the last stage of training. Building STEM Curricular Leadership in Gujarat via online and in-person workshops, and sharing the insights of the master trainers during a national level three-day conference are all part of the plan. The plan also includes conducting a base line study of the state of STEM education and profiling STEM industries in Gujarat.

In the final stage, participants will go to Singapore to participate in workshops at the country’s universities and STEM enterprises, where they will gain in-depth exposure to cutting-edge research and development. They plan on going to other schools in Singapore to learn from and collaborate with STEM educators. The primary result will be the development of a strong network of STEM teachers in Singapore and India.

This will aid in the improvement of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020-aligned Integrated STEM Curriculum Framework for the Indian setting. Standards, evaluation tools, recommended strategies, and suggested actions will all be a part of it. This all-encompassing structure will be presented to and recommended for adoption by various school boards around the country.

There is a lot of room for STEM education to develop and give students more agency across the country. It’s a great tool for helping young people channel their natural inquisitiveness into careers that require them to think critically across disciplinary lines and creatively address practical challenges. The Adani Foundation’s goal is to ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education at a price they can afford, and our STEM Leadership Programme is an extension of that mission. The Foundation operates a wide variety of smart learning programmes, including both free and subsidised schools.
