Surat to host the first-ever ‘Surat Saree Walkathon’ on April 9

Surat : The diamond city of Surat is all set to witness the first-ever ‘Surat Saree Walkathon’ titled ‘Walk for Your Health in 6 yards of elegance’ organised by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the Surat Smart City Development Limited on April  9.

Over 10,000 women from different walks of life in Surat have already registered for the Surat Saree Walkathon. The walkathon will be flagged off from the Police Parade Ground on Athwalines and it will reach Jani Locho at Parle Point to return to Police Parede ground on April 9.

India is culturally rich diverse country and the main dress of India is Saree. More than 10,000 women going to participate in Surat municipal corporation Saree Walkathon 2023.

Official sources said that Surat is considered as ‘Mini-India’ where people from all the states and cities are residing for the last many years. Being the city of textiles, diamonds and giant industries, Surat is home to more than 60 lakh population. About 80% of the people living in Surat belong to various states across the country.
