50 textile entrepreneurs to showcase unique fabrics at CMAI Fab Show in Mumbai

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: Over 50 leading textile entrepreneurs from the country’s largest man-made fabric (MMF) center in Surat are participating with their most innovative fabric products in the three-day long second edition of ‘CMAI FAB Show’ organized by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai beginning from September 19.

Dr. Ajoy Bhattacharya, south Gujarat regional chairman of CMAI said, “For the first time, some of the reputed textile companies such as Gokul Tex and Leepa will be exhibiting the most innovative fabrics at the CMAI FAB show in Mumbai”

According to Dr. Bhattacharya, Leepa textile’s Kathika brand will be displayed at the exhibition with the first-of-its-kind woven Ikat fabric from the dyed yarns. This is the first time in the world that Leepa textile has developed woven Ikat fabric, a pure form of handwoven ikat fabric known as ‘PreWea Ikat’. Gokul Tex will be exhibiting eco-friend and natural fabrics at the CMAI exhibition.

Following the overwhelming success of the first edition of the CMAI FAB show in April 2022, the CMAI has organized the second edition in Mumbai. The exhibition has been organized on the 15,000 square meter area where the top buyers from the textile sectors in India and abroad including manufacturers, garment brands, exporters, vendors, and designers will be visiting.

Himanshu Bodawala, president of SGCCI said, “SGCCI had a pavilion during the first edition of the CMAI FAB show where 48 textile entrepreneurs received an overwhelming response. However, we have decided to partner with CMAI in the second edition as well. The state-of-the-art fabrics will be exhibited for the buyers from India and around the world”

Mayur Golwala, leader of Surat’s textile weaving industry said, “CMAI FAB show will provide an extra boost to Surat’s textile sector. Some of the exclusive and innovative fabrics from Surat will be exhibited in the FAB show”
