Dholera, Gujarat – Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to conduct a detailed on-site review of ongoing infrastructure and industrial development projects. His visit signals the state government’s strong commitment to positioning Dholera as India’s premier smart industrial hub and the future Semicon City of the country.

Chief Minister Patel was accompanied by Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Chief Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, and other top bureaucrats. The site visit aligns with his broader initiative to personally monitor progress on key development projects across Gujarat and offer direct guidance to executing authorities.

Major Infrastructure Milestones

During a high-level review meeting at Dholera, the CEO of Dholera SIR and MD of Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd (DICDL), Kuldeep Arya, presented a comprehensive update on various projects. Highlights included:

95% completion of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, a critical transport corridor linking Gujarat’s capital region with its emerging industrial hotspot.

Completion of essential plug and play infrastructure, including underground utilities, road networks, and water treatment facilities.

300 MW solar park construction finalized, furthering Gujarat’s clean energy goals.

Completion of the ABCD Building, a symbol of smart governance infrastructure.

Social and Industrial Infrastructure in Progress

The CM was briefed on several upcoming projects under active development:

Bhimnath-Dholera freight railway line

A 192-bed hospital, school up to 12th standard, fire station, and residential housing for workers and investors

Chief Minister Patel personally visited many of these construction sites and emphasized timely, quality completion of these initiatives.

Paving the Way for India’s Semiconductor Hub

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a global semiconductor leader, the Gujarat government is actively working to develop Dholera Smart City into a full-fledged Semicon City. The region is being equipped with a complete semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

Notably, CM Patel reviewed the status of the Tata Electronics semiconductor plant, which is under construction in Dholera. He also held meetings with company officials to discuss timelines, production goals, and support infrastructure.

Twelve developers currently operating in Dholera SIR also presented their progress and future roadmaps during the review session.

Dholera International Airport Progress

Another key focus area of the CM’s visit was the Dholera International Airport, where construction of the cargo building, terminal, and runway is progressing at a cost of ₹1,350 crore. The airport is expected to significantly boost logistics, connectivity, and investor interest in the region.

Chief Minister Patel’s visit has energized on-ground teams and reaffirmed the government’s focus on strategic, long-term growth through sustainable and high-tech infrastructure. His leadership is widely seen as instrumental in accelerating Gujarat’s emergence as a global semiconductor and clean industry powerhouse.

Officials including Principal Secretaries Mamta Verma and Mona Khandhar, Advisor  S.S. Rathore, and senior district officers participated in the review, underscoring the multi-departmental coordination driving Dholera’s transformation.
