Prabhsimran Singh unleashes carnage on Mukesh Kumar
The real destruction came when Mukesh Kumar was handed the final over of the powerplay. Prabhsimran responded with absolute dominance, smashing him for four consecutive fours and finishing the over in ruthless fashion.
Mukesh conceded 24 runs in that over alone, while Prabhsimran stormed to 71 off just 23 balls at that stage, setting the tone for Punjab’s chase.
How the over unfolded
The first ball was punched through the covers to bring up a rapid half-century off just 18 deliveries.
The second was pulled through mid-wicket.
The third, a fuller delivery, was lofted over extra cover.
The fourth, wide outside off, was carved past short third man.
The fifth, a high full toss, was dispatched to the boundary.
The sixth was again pulled, with a top edge carrying over the ropes despite Mukesh Kumar’s effort.

- Prabhsimran Singh vs Mukesh Kumar, Delhi 2026
Record-breaking opening stand
Punjab Kings’ dominance continued as Prabhsimran and Priyansh Arya stitched a 126-run opening partnership, the highest ever for PBKS vs DC in IPL history.

Powerplay domination
PBKS didn’t stop there, posting 116/0 in the powerplay, one of the highest ever in IPL history and second-best in Delhi, only behind Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 125/0 in 2024.
