Vadodara | Gujarat — A cloud of outrage and grief has engulfed Dabhasa village in Padra taluka after a worker at Kronox Lab Sciences Ltd died under mysterious circumstances. The company is now facing severe backlash, with the family of the deceased and villagers alleging negligence and deliberate delay in informing them about the death.
According to media reports, the worker was rushed to Crossroad Hospital, where he was declared dead. But the family claims they were not informed by the company in time. “We got to know only from others that my brother had died. The company never called us. This is unacceptable,” said a relative of the deceased, speaking amid tears and anger.
The news of the death spread quickly, and within hours, the hospital premises turned into a protest site. Family members, joined by villagers, confronted company officials at the hospital, leading to heated arguments. Later, the crowd moved to the company gate, where they raised slogans demanding accountability.
“The company cannot escape by staying silent. They must answer why the family wasn’t informed immediately and what exactly caused the death. We want justice and proper compensation,” shouted a villager outside the company premises.
The tense atmosphere prompted police to deploy heavy security at both Crossroad Hospital and Kronox Lab Sciences Ltd to prevent escalation. Officers appealed to the grieving family to remain calm and assured them of an impartial probe. “We will investigate thoroughly and ensure transparency,” a senior police official told the media.
The villagers have demanded that the state government intervene, provide adequate compensation to the bereaved family, and ensure strict action if negligence is proven.
