Valsad, Gujarat – In a major win for residents of Valsad, the long-pending demand for a Vande Bharat Express stoppage at Valsad Railway Station has finally been approved by the Railway Ministry. This comes after continuous efforts and a strong representation made by Valsad-Dang MP Dhaval Patel, who is also the BJP whip in the 18th Lok Sabha, to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
MP Dhaval Patel met the Railway Minister in New Delhi and highlighted multiple long-standing issues affecting Valsad’s railway infrastructure. Chief among them was the need for a stoppage of the prestigious Vande Bharat Express, which currently runs between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Station (Train No. 20901/20902).
The official announcement from the Railway Department confirming Valsad as a stoppage has brought a wave of joy among frequent rail travellers and the general public. The inauguration of this stoppage will be marked by a ceremonial flag-off at Valsad Railway Station on July 27, in the presence of MP Dhaval Patel, district MLAs, senior BJP officials, and railway authorities.
“It’s a proud moment for Valsad. I thank Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and the Ministry for recognizing the needs of our people,” said Dhaval Patel in a statement. “This stoppage will significantly boost connectivity and ease travel between South Gujarat and key cities like Mumbai and Gandhinagar.”
Local commuters, especially professionals and students who frequently travel for work and education, have welcomed the decision with great enthusiasm. “We’ve waited a long time for this. The Vande Bharat stoppage is a game changer for Valsad,” said Priya Shah, a Valsad-based IT consultant who frequently travels to Mumbai. Is
“This move will save hours of travel for senior citizens like me,” said Arvind Joshi, a retired banker. “We finally feel connected to Gujarat’s development push.”
“As a college student, this will help me travel faster and more safely between Valsad and Gandhinagar,” said Parth Mehta, a law student.
