Vadodara : Youth Congress leaders staged a protest at Dairy Den Circle in Vadodara, decrying the recent NEET exam scam on Tuesday. Demonstrators voiced their grievances against the BJP government, brandishing fake currency notes and blocking the road in a fierce “Rasta Roko” movement, which resulted in significant traffic disruptions.

The Sayajiganj police detained approximately 12 protesters, using force on some, including wrist restraints and beatings.

Congress leader Hari Ode in Vadodara highlighted the hardships faced by students striving for medical admissions through the NEET exam, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). He accused the BJP government of being responsible for repeated paper leaks across various exams, including those for electrical assistants and police recruitment. “NEET papers have never leaked before. This unprecedented breach under the corrupt BJP government jeopardizes the future of 24 lakh students,” Ode asserted. He called for the cancellation of the compromised exam and the organization of a fresh, fair examination.

Vadodara City Congress President Ritvij Joshi criticized the National Testing Agency’s failure in conducting the NEET examination properly. He lambasted the government’s reluctance to accept responsibility, noting that the newly sworn-in education minister remained silent on the issue. “Even the Prime Minister has not addressed the students’ plight. The future of millions of students hangs in the balance, prompting the Youth Congress to stage this dharna,” Joshi said.

Joshi emphasized the demand for justice for affected students, attributing the scandal to the misdeeds of the BJP government. He called for the abolition of corrupt agencies and pointed out that similar paper leaks had occurred in Gujarat without any governmental action. “We demand the resignation of the education minister. The BJP is accountable for this scam, and the students deserve justice,” he stated emphatically.
