VADODARA,GUJARAT : Authorities searched the Caravan Serai Resort in Bhat, Shivrajpur, and seized 32 commercial gas cylinders, allegedly in violation of regulations. The operation, led by Panchmahal District Supply Officer H.T. Makwana and carried out under the supervision of Halol Mamlatdar Pradipsinh Gohil, targeted the resort amid speculation that it is owned by Vadodara BJP corporator Bandish Shah.

On Thursday, Deputy Supply Mamlatdar and his crew conducted a raid that revealed 11 full commercial gas cylinders weighing 19 kg each, as well as 21 empty cylinders, for a total of 32 cylinders worth Rs. 76,948. These cylinders were discovered to be used for commercial purposes at the resort, which violated Section 3(1)(c) of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Supply and Distribution Regulation Order, 2000. According to the laws, a gas cylinder with a capacity of 19 kg can only hold up to 100 kilograms. The resort management exceeded this limit by storing substantially more than the permissible amount.

The surprise raid at Caravan Serai Resort near Vadodara was part of a larger attempt by the Halol Supply Department to combat illicit storage and use of commercial gas cylinders. The operation underlined the need for tighter regulatory enforcement to prevent such infractions. The seized cylinders constitute a major overstocking, which not only violates the law but may also pose a safety risk.

This incident has highlighted the resort’s management methods and adherence to legal norms. The use of commercial gas cylinders beyond the authorized limit for commercial reasons is a significant violation, and those involved are anticipated to face further consequences. The Supply Department’s decisive action serves as a warning to other businesses in the Halol division and beyond, highlighting the importance of following LPG storage standards.

According to local sources, the resort’s relationship to a well-known political person complicates the situation. However, the authorities’ dedication to executing the law remains constant, regardless of party allegiance. The confiscation of the cylinders marks a significant step toward guaranteeing legal compliance and safety in commercial LPG operations.
