Unidentified Man Dies by Suicide Under Truck in Nikol

Ahmedabad, Gujarat — In a heartwrenching incident, a young man in his 30’s committed suicide by jumping under a truck in Nikol area of Ahmedabad on Wednesday. The deceased, who is yet to be identified by the Ahmedabad police, was waiting for the parked truck to move. As soon as the truck driver started the vehicle and moved, the man lied down on his back under the tyres and committed suicide. 

Sources said that within a few seconds the truck’s tyres crushed the man’s body and moved forward. The Odhav police have registered a case and started an investigation.

According to the Odhav police, the incident occurred at Palm hotel on the state highway in the Nikol area in the early morning hours of Wednesday. The deceased, aged 35 years, was waiting at the hotel for one of the parked trucks to leave the hotel. As soon as the driver of the truck sat in the cabin and started the engine, the youth lied down on his back to commit suicide. 

CCTV footage of this incident has also come to light. In which it is seen that the young man committed suicide.

On receiving information about the incident, Odhav police reached the spot. Odhav police have registered a case of accidental death in the entire matter and started an investigation. Odhav PI P.N. Jinjuwadia said that the deceased is an unknown youth. He has not been identified yet. No suicide note or anything else was found in the youth’s pocket. Hence, the process of identifying the youth is underway.
