Mumbai : The Machan, known worldwide for its luxury tree homes, has just acquired the Harlalka Haveli in Rajasthan, India. The tree houses are located in the verdant woods of Lonavala. The Machan has rebranded the 200-year-old royal Indian Haveli as The Legacy Mandawa as part of its first push into the Indian market.

The private palace has been refurbished to meet the demands of the contemporary, eco-conscious, urban traveller while also providing a one-of-a-kind experience for its visitors who want to go back in time and experience the old world, Royal Indian charm.

The Machan will become India’s first Carbon Neutral Heritage Holiday Destination by drawing on its extensive knowledge in the field and using the latest sustainable construction practises across the property.

Sanat Hooja, a partner at The Machan, elaborated on the firm’s future goals, saying, “We wanted our first venture outside of Lonavala to be unique in its own right.” Mandawa’s palaces, many of which date back to the 18th century or before, are decorated with pieces of art from that era and earlier. To kick off our growth, we chose a fascinating spot in the Delhi-National Capital Region area.

He said, “After the epidemic, we saw two contrasting tendencies in the tourism business. Guests are increasingly opting to spend their holidays at eco-friendly establishments, but they are also looking for a really special experience during their time away from home. With this Haveli, we can provide a unique combination of the two.

With this purchase, we want to expand the sustainable and carbon-neutral eco-centric Machan approach to vacationing to other regions of this beautiful nation.

The Legacy Mandawa is the most recent regal addition to The Machan’s boutique hotels, and it has amenities including a desert walk, a campfire under the stars, and camel rides. Everyone is welcome to try to feel like a true member of the Royal Indian culture.

The Legacy is around 2612 square yards in size and has over 11 individual rooms. Mandawa, constructed by the Harlalka family 270 years ago, is widely regarded as one of the best-designed havelis in the area. tranquil, bright, and elegantly adorned with murals of Shekhawati art.

Mandawa, in the Jhunjhunu region of Rajasthan, is a sleepy little town that was once a major hub on India’s silk road. The building has the charm of a historical play but all the conveniences of a five-star hotel.

Today, it is easy to get there by air, road, or train from major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
