SVPI airport witnessed highest nonscheduled and VIP movements in the last month

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) : Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad has been getting busy every passing month with passenger movements. While passenger movement is crossing 32000 passengers in a day for scheduled flights, the airport set a new record by operating 1164 nonscheduled movements in the last month.
Because of several infrastructural developments, the traffic is increasing and SVPI airport is becoming an airport of preference. In the last 1 month, the nonscheduled flight movements have been more than 1100 with 58 movements as the highest for one day. Starting from November 10 to December 10, the SVPI airport recorded 1164 nonscheduled flights including several VIP flights as well during this period.
Post introduction of the new General Aviation terminal the dedicated facility for Non-scheduled domestic as well as international movements, there has been a steady increase in non-scheduled passenger movements.
Because of dedicated efforts by teams at SVPI airport, smooth passenger movement was ensured in close coordination with local authorities and stakeholders. Several national dignitaries visited SVPI airport during the last month. The SVPI airport team with never-ending support from local authorities and CISF ensured smooth transfer through the airport. The dignitaries included Chief ministers of different states, Central Ministers, and the Honorable Prime Minister.
With increasing movements, SVPI airport is at par with high standards set by industry and major airports of the country.
GA Terminal
The facility promises faster turnaround of business jets and chartered aircrafts, saving passengers the trouble of competing for taxing slots with commercial flights in general passenger terminals. This development has paved way for the growth of general aviation sector in in the country. The aesthetically designed 12000 sq ft with the terminal building comprising of 4500 sq ft has a dedicated entrance to the GA terminal that is secured by private security for controllable access and has an Operation Control Center manned 24 hours of the day.
