Susheel nails it in ‘Selfiee’ with Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi
Susheel Bonthiyaal is a great example of a Bollywood actor who has consistently nabbed lead role
New Delhi: The charisma and likability of the film’s leads are crucial to the film’s success. Character artists play an important role in giving Indian films their distinctive flavor by developing characters who live in the film’s world. They’re vital in developing interesting characters that add to the story and make the movie more enjoyable for viewers.
Susheel Bonthiyaal is a great example of a Bollywood actor who has consistently nabbed lead roles. He attended the National School of Drama and graduated with acting training. Although he was raised in Lucknow, Susheel is a native of Uttarakhand. Susheel’s parents weren’t entirely on board with his decision to become an actor, but he was determined to pursue his dream and, after much convincing, he finally made the journey to Mumbai.
The role of a devoted father on the TV show “Phulwa” made Susheel Bonthiyaal a household name. His performance as Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla’s personal secretary in the film “Gulaab gang” was superb. Susheel had a minor role as Irrfan Khan’s friend in the blockbuster ‘Billu,’ which starred both Khan brothers. And in yet another amazing movie, “Kaagaz,” Susheel only had one scene with Pankaj Tripathi as a Government Officer, but he proved he had “the metal of an actor” in that one scene. Other web series he appeared in, such as “The Chargesheet,” “Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare,” and “Crash Course,” all featured him in notable supporting roles.
Like many NSD actors who have broken into Bollywood, Susheel Bonthiyaal recently played a fascinating role in the film ‘Selfiee,’ which starred Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, and others. In Selfiee, for example, the Bollywood setting is populated by actual actors.
Selfiee has an engaging premise, and Emraan, who plays a common man and is a huge Akshay Kumar fan, does a fantastic job bringing up the device of road safety campaigns, of which Akshay Kumar is generally the ambassador these days. Among them were Susheel Bonthiyaal, who played the role of a responsible RTO Main Officer controlling both the Superstar Akshay Kumar and his subordinate, RTO Traffik, and Emraan Hashmi, who played a Traffic Inspector representing the common man; Akashdeep, who played a Bollywood producer; Abhimanyu, who played a rival star actor who is always falling behind in this fame race.
Susheel is such an actor who knows the trick to handle and balance any character. He plays his role creating visually appealing moments that help to tell the story. And that’s why in most movies, Susheel is always chosen for playing such character roles that creates a more immersive and believable world for the audience.
His few works that will release in future are movie Kaagaz 2 and web shows, ‘AK 47’ and ‘Tiwari’.
