Three different distances, 2, 5, and 11 kilometres, will make up the DICF Marathon 2023
Surat (Gujarat) : The Diamond Industry Career Foundation (DICF) will host the first-ever marathon, aptly titled “DICF Marathon 2023,” in the diamond hub of Mota Varachha on Sunday. Approximately five thousand people connected to the world’s largest diamond cutting and polishing industry in Surat, especially diamond workers, are expected to participate.
Three different distances, 2, 5, and 11 kilometres, will make up the DICF Marathon 2023. The marathon’s slogan, “Run for ourselves,” is intended to promote a positive self-image by emphasising the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
From Gopin village on New Ring Road in Mota Varachha, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi will officially launch the marathon in front of a who’s who of the diamond industry and members of the general public. The marathon will kick off at 5:30 am and end at 8 am.
DICF is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the Surat diamond trade. Providing free medical and blood donation camps, running a job portal and job upgradation for diamond workers, providing educational loans and information, computer education, etc., are just a few of the ways this organisation is helping the less fortunate in the diamond industry.
Nilesh Bodki of DICF told The Blunt Times, “DICF is the organisation working for the welfare of the diamond industry. To our knowledge, this is the first-ever marathon held in the diamond capital of Varachha, organised by DICF. The majority of attendees are in the diamond business. So far, we’ve had about 5,000 people sign up.
