Surat : U-11 Athletics Meet 4.0 Launched at VNSGU
Children’s Research University’s three-day state-level competition in Surat aims to identify Olympic-level potential from an early age

Surat | Gujarat —The ‘U-11 athletics meet season 4.0’ of the Children’s Research University, Gandhinagar was launched at the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), in Surat on Friday. The three day long competition has been organised to encourage the young players of the state and to reveal their latent sports talent in a scientific manner.
On this occasion, VNSGU Vice Chancellor Dr. Kishoresinh Chavda appreciated the state government’s policy of promoting sports. “When the country is making intensive preparations for the Olympics, the Under-11 Athletics Meet will play an important role in preparing Olympic-level players. It is imperative to provide proper guidance and opportunities from a young age for global competition. As a result, talented players of the future are prepared” said Chavda
This competition includes 11 sporting events such as 60 m., 100 m., 200 m. and 400 m. race, hurdle race, tennis ball throw, medicine ball throw, standing broad jump, long jump, high jump, and javelin throw in separate categories for boys and girls in two age groups of Under-9 and Under-11.
On the first day of this season, 982 students from various schools of the state participated in various competitions of Under-11 girls.
It is noteworthy that the competition will be held for boys under 9 on January 10, boys under 11 on Sunday, and girls under 9 on January 12. The winning 1,056 students will receive a total prize of Rs. 22 lakhs and will get a direct opportunity to appear in the DLSS-District Level Sports School entrance exam conducted by the Sports Authority of Gujarat.
On this occasion, a large number of children including Children’s University Vice Chancellor Dr. T. S. Joshi, N. J. Group Co-Founder and Promoter Neeraj Choksi participated.
