Surat : Over 1.91 lakh students from Surat City and District are preparing to take their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) starting March 11, 2024. This year, the number of participants includes 1,10,970 students in SSC (Class 10), 62,340 in HSC General Stream, and 18,020 in HSC Science Stream.

To ensure a smooth and secure examination process, the district education department has been actively involved in preliminary preparations. A total of 613 examination centers have been established across Surat city and district, with 347 centers for SSC, 192 for HSC Commerce, and 74 for HSC Science. Notably, each center is equipped with CCTV cameras to deter malpractices and ensure fair examination conditions.

The examination schedule for Class 10 and Science stream of Class 12 spans from March 11 to 22, while the General stream of Class 12 will continue until March 26. Recognizing the potential stress and challenges faced by students, the District Education Office (DEO) has launched a dedicated helpline called “Parikshasathi Sathe Pariksha Pe Charcha” (Together with the Exam Buddy, Discuss the Exam). This helpline will be operational until March 26, offering students a platform to seek guidance, address concerns, and clarify doubts related to the exams.

Speaking about the preparations, district education department officer stated, “We are committed to providing a conducive and secure environment for all students appearing in the board exams. The increased number of centers and CCTV surveillance demonstrate our dedication to fair and transparent examinations. We encourage students to utilize the helpline and approach their teachers or counselors for any support they may require.”

Students are advised to visit the official GSHSEB website for detailed information regarding the exam schedule, syllabus, and admit cards. With the combined efforts of the education department and the students’ dedication, the upcoming board exams are expected to be conducted smoothly and successfully.
