Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with prominent chambers of commerce, including the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Mumbai-based India Business Group – Trade Council, and the Chamber of Commerce and Indian Chamber of International Business, in a significant step towards fostering international business collaborations.

The signing ceremony was held as part of SGCCI’s Global Connect Mission 84, an initiative that promises to revolutionize international trade interactions, on the occasion of the 84th foundation day celebration of SGCCI in Surat on Saturday.

This pioneering platform seeks to facilitate and strengthen international trade relationships, positioning Indian businesses on a global stage.

The momentous occasion witnessed the presence of Parshottam Rupala, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries, who lauded the efforts of SGCCI in promoting international business collaborations.

Prashant Patel, Regional Secretary of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed his optimism about the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project. He emphasized that the project has the potential to unearth the latent strengths in various industries, ultimately bolstering the development of trade and industry in India. Patel drew parallels with the success stories of industries such as textiles, diamonds, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, aquaculture, and real estate in Surat and envisaged similar growth in diverse sectors across the nation.

The SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 aims to enhance the awareness of Indian industries about the abundant resources and products made within the country. By reducing the dependence on foreign countries for raw materials and other essential products, this initiative aims to foster self-reliance and self-sufficiency among Indian industrialists. The project is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s economy with the collaborative efforts of various chambers of commerce.

Ramesh Vaghasia, President of SGCCI, shared that the official launch of an online international platform under the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project is scheduled for the 84th foundation day of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on October 21.

The core objective of the Mission 84 Project is to boost India’s economy and stimulate exports from the country. Under this initiative, SGCCI plans to onboard 84,000 Indian industrialists and connect them with 84,000 businesses operating in different countries worldwide. This grand endeavor will bring together 84 Chambers of Commerce from India and their counterparts in 84 countries, all unified on a single online international platform.
