Surat, Gujarat – In a major push to strengthen industrial safety infrastructure, the Sachin Notified Authority and Sachin Industrial Co-operative Society jointly inaugurated new fire and rescue vehicles worth ₹10 crore at the Sachin GIDC Fire Station. These additions are set to significantly enhance emergency response for over 2,250 industries operating in the region, especially those involved in chemical and high-risk manufacturing processes.
The new fleet includes two 20,000-litre water bowsers, one water bowser with an 18-meter boom tower, and one emergency rescue tender. The advanced fire-fighting and rescue equipment will reduce response time and improve operational efficiency during crises.
“We are always ready for the benefit of 2,250 industries in Sachin GIDC. These new fire tenders mark a significant step towards ensuring rapid emergency services and industrial safety. This is not an expense, but an investment in the security and confidence of our industrial ecosystem,” said Mayur Golwala, Secretary of Sachin Industrial Co-operative Society Limited.
Key Highlights of New Fire Vehicles
- Water Bowsers (20,000 Litres Each):
The newly added water bowsers boast four times the water capacity of the old ones (5,000 litres), along with a foam capacity of 2,000 litres. Equipped with both automatic and manual controls, these vehicles are ideal for nighttime operations thanks to their light mast and powerful spotlights. They come fully outfitted with essential fire-fighting gear including aluminum ladders, fire pipes, and nozzle sets.
- Water Bowsers with Boom Tower (18 Meters):
Specially designed for high-rise buildings and hazardous chemical units, this unit features a boom tower that extends up to 18 meters, a water tank of 10,000 litres, and 2,000 litres of foam. Like the others, it includes night-operational lighting and fire-fighting gear. Its flexibility in elevation makes it highly effective in hard-to-reach areas during intense fires.
- Emergency Rescue Tender:
Built for complex rescue missions, this vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art tools for search and rescue, slab collapse intervention, and emergency entry during structural fires. It will be invaluable in saving lives during critical situations like building collapses or industrial accidents.
The fleet was officially inaugurated by Nilesh Gami, President of the Society, in the presence of Vice President Bhikhubhai Nakrani, Director Mansukhbhai Lakhani, Notified Chairman Mitul Mehta, and other key industrialists and fire personnel.
The Fire Helpline Number 7874714141 has also been activated for rapid response coordination.
This strategic enhancement marks a milestone in Sachin GIDC’s commitment to industrial safety and reflects proactive governance by the Sachin Notified Authority and Sachin Industrial Co-operative Society.
