Surat : Private Bus Crash Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

Surat : A tragic accident occurred on the Surat-Kamrej road near Dada Bhagwan temple on Friday when a private luxury bus lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles, resulting in the death of one commuter and serious injuries to four others. The incident took place near the Kamrej crossroads, causing panic among bystanders and commuters.

The private bus, owned by Kanhaiya Travels, was heading toward Surat from Jamnagar when the driver lost control of the vehicle. According to eyewitnesses, the bus hit around eight vehicles, including two-wheelers, cars, and auto-rickshaws, in a sudden and chaotic collision. The force of the impact left one person dead on the spot, while four others suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the private luxury bus managed to escape, but he was caught by the people standing around. The bus driver was in an inebriated state when he was caught by the people. 

Ketanbhai, who witnessed the accident near Kamrej Char Road, described the terrifying moment, stating, “The bus driver was speeding without applying brakes. The bus rammed into the vehicles coming its way. A man was killed in front of me, and two women were injured with broken legs. The bus even hit my car, but fortunately, I was unhurt.”

In another account, a biker involved in the accident said that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. “I was going to Surat when the bus from Kanhaiya Travels hit the vehicles. The driver seemed to be drunk, and I survived by jumping off my bike just in time, but my bike was completely damaged,” he recalled.

The bystanders managed to apprehend the driver after the accident and handed him over to the police. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash, including whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

Sources revealed that the condition of two to three victims in the bus accident is critical and they are undergoing treatment.
