After obtaining information, Kapodra police began an operation and detained Deepak Patnaik, 26.  Because the young man studying MBA is originally from Odisha, he created a fake stamp with the signature of MLA Kanani from Odisha and used it to generate Aadhar and PAN cards in Surat.

On April 1 evening, police officials from the surveillance team were monitoring the Kapodra neighborhood.  During that period, an informant provided precise evidence indicating that a person named Deepak Patnaik was creating government papers like as Aadhar cards and PAN cards with bogus signatures and the stamp of MLA Kumar Kanani.  The accused would assist applicants seeking to update their names and address details on their Aadhar and PAN cards.  However, the buyers were unaware that the culprit was using a false signature and stamp of BJP MLA Kanani.

The Kapodra police conducted an operation based on information and detained Deepak Kavirajbhai Patnaik, an EWS resident of Kosad, Amroli. Police seized an Aadhar card, a printer, a computer, and both filled and blank paperwork for creating an Aadhar card in the MLA’s name.

Deepak Kavirajbhai Patnaik was accused of possessing bogus stamps in the name of Varachha Assembly MLA Kumar Kanani, which were created by an unknown individual in his birthplace of Sambalpur, Odisha.  He had rented an office next to Shanidev Maharaj, across from Gate No. 4 of the Kshama Society, near Kapodra Saurashtra Circle in Surat.
