Surat Police Arrest One in Looting Petrol Pump Employee Worth Rs 4.30 Lakh

Mehul Nareshbhai Rathore, 28, a resident near Althan Garden in Surat and a longstanding employee at Akash Petrol Pump on VIP Road, became the victim of the robbery. Following his shift from 6 am to 2 pm, he returned to the petrol pump at 9 pm, securing Rs 4.30 lakhs of the business's cash in a black bag, intending to deliver it to the petrol pump owner, Dharmendra Patel in Bharthana village.

Surat : Surat was shaken by a recent robbery near Bharthana as two individuals targeted a petrol pump employee, making off with a bag containing Rs 4.30 lakh in cash. The incident, captured by CCTV cameras, unfolded while the employee was en route to deliver the money to the petrol pump owner, registering a case with the Althan police.

Upon learning of the incident, the police swiftly registered a case and initiated an investigation. Utilizing CCTV footage, multiple police teams were formed to apprehend the robbers. Within 12 hours of the robbery, one of the accused was in possession of an iPhone 15, indicating swift utilization of the stolen funds.

Subsequently, Althan police successfully apprehended Akash Gawle, one of the alleged robbers, from Pandesara. However, his accomplice, Kiran Gowdi, remains at large. The police were able to recover Rs 3.99 lakh of the stolen amount from the arrested individual.
