Surat Passport Office to Hold Special Drive on July 18

SURAT: In a major relief for passport applicants facing long waiting periods, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Surat, has announced a Special Passport Drive on Saturday, July 18, 2026, to meet the sharp rise in demand for passport services across the city.

According to an official press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, additional appointment slots for Normal Passport applications will be opened on the Passport Seva Portal. Applicants with appointments scheduled for a later date, as well as those who missed their earlier appointments, will also be allowed to reschedule their visits for the special drive.

“The special drive is being organised in view of the high demand for passport services witnessed during July 2026,” the Regional Passport Office, Surat, said in its statement.

The Passport Office has advised applicants to keep checking the Passport Seva website regularly, as appointment slots will be released online shortly. Citizens have also been urged to ensure they carry all the required documents to avoid delays during their visit to the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Surat.

“This initiative is part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ efforts to make passport appointments available to all citizens at the earliest,” the official release stated.

The special drive is expected to reduce the growing backlog of applications and provide faster access to passport services for residents of Surat and nearby districts. Applicants are encouraged to book their slots as soon as they become available due to the anticipated high demand.
