Surat | Gujarat — The Man Made Textiles Research Association (MANTRA) and The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) jointly organised a seminar on “Innovation in Sustainable Wastewater Management” at SIECC campus in Sarsana in the presence of environmental professionals, industries and stakeholders from the water management sector.
Vijay Mewawala, former president of SGCCI explained the importance of wastewater management especially for the textile industries of Surat. Dr. Arup Rakshit, director of MANTRA Neeraj Mithani, director of Aeolus Sustainable Bioenergy Private Limited, presented their views on the objectives of the seminar and its importance and usefulness.
The seminar was keynote address by expert speaker Neeraj Mithani (Director, Aeolus The seminar focused on the urgent need for innovative technologies for wastewater treatment and provided detailed information on state-of-the-art technologies contributing to sustainability, resource recovery and environmental protection.
During the seminar, Neeraj Mithani emphasized on the integration of modern technologies such as electro-chemical systems, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), plant extract-based reagents, electro-coagulation and electro-oxidation technology, etc.
The objective of this seminar was to create awareness about wastewater management in the textile industry of Surat and to promote dialogue on important wastewater practices to address the growing global water crisis. The participants actively participated in the Q&A session and the questions and answers were presented in great depth.
