In the bustling streets of Limbayat, Surat, a tragic hit-and-run incident unfolded when a driver, operating an Eco car, struck a family while recklessly navigating the service road, leaving the victims injured before hastily fleeing the scene.

The victims, a family of five, were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention following the appalling collision. Prompt action was taken as law enforcement was notified, initiating investigations into the distressing event.

Authorities, utilizing the extensive CCTV network in the area, managed to apprehend the culprit responsible for the callous hit-and-run. The footage provided a stark account of the reckless driving behavior that led to the unfortunate incident, capturing the moment the Eco car careened into the unsuspecting family on the roadside.

The driver, identified as Rupesh Datubhai Polekar, was taken into custody following a thorough examination of the CCTV recordings. Polekar, employed as a supervisor in a private company, was interrogated by the police to ascertain details surrounding the incident.

According to VA Jograna, the police inspector overseeing the case at Limbayat police station, the harrowing event transpired at 9 pm on Sunday, inflicting varying degrees of injury upon the family members. The man sustained a fractured leg, while his daughter required hospitalization for injuries sustained during the collision. Fortunately, the other two children and the woman suffered minor injuries, sparing them from more severe consequences.

While no casualties were reported, the incident has prompted an intensive investigation by authorities. The detained suspect, Polekar, has been arrested, and further scrutiny of the vehicle and additional inquiries are underway.
