Surat : The Surat city crime branch police has taken swift action in response to a complaint lodged by Sandip Desai, BJP MLA from Choriyasi seat, against a group of unscrupulous individuals distributing defamatory pamphlets aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Gujarat BJP Chief CR Paatil and other senior party members. The ongoing investigation has brought to light startling allegations involving extortion, corruption claims, and the alleged involvement of heavyweight tribal leader Ganpat Vasava.

The controversy unfolded with the arrest of Jinendra Shah, a BJP worker from Ahmedabad, by the Surat Crime Branch. Shah was allegedly attempting to extort a staggering amount of Rs 8 crore from CR Paatil, claiming the involvement of Rs 80 crore from the party fund in corrupt activities and falsely defaming the party’s top leadership.

The situation further escalated when it was revealed that some senior leaders from the largest milk cooperative union were also allegedly involved in the orchestrated campaign to smear the reputation of Gujarat BJP Chief CR Paatil and other prominent leaders within the party.

In response to the grave allegations and the distribution of malicious pamphlets, Sandip Desai, the BJP’s Choriyasi MLA, along with other MLAs and party workers, lodged a formal complaint with the Surat city police. The Surat Crime Branch promptly registered an FIR in connection with the complaint and launched a thorough investigation into the matter.

Desai spoke to The Blunt Times, expressing his determination to reveal the hidden faces behind the defamatory campaign. He stated, “We, along with other MLAs and BJP workers, filed a complaint with the Surat city police after the distribution of pamphlets defaming our party and Gujarat BJP Chief. The registration of an FIR by the Surat Crime Branch is a significant step, and I believe the investigation will uncover the truth and expose those responsible.”

Amid the unfolding investigation, allegations emerged against former cabinet minister and heavyweight tribal leader Ganpat Vasava, who is allegedly linked to the conspiracy to defame Gujarat BJP Chief CR Paatil. Sources indicate that Vasava reportedly issued a written apology to CR Paatil after the revelations surfaced.

The FIR marks a crucial step in unravelling the intricate web of events surrounding the case and brings hope for justice to the affected party leaders. As the investigation progresses, the Surat Crime Branch will work diligently to ascertain the truth and hold those found guilty accountable for their actions.

The incident has drawn considerable attention from the political community, and citizens are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the investigation to understand the full extent of the alleged conspiracy and its implications on the party’s integrity.
