New Delhi : The writer-director Munindra Gupta, whose previous film NH-8: Road to Nidhivan won numerous accolades, has returned with another Oscar-worthy effort. MG Film Garage’s production of his film, Stranger By The Hill, has been receiving rave reviews around the world. The film has been nominated for numerous awards and won two at the fourth annual Shunyatam International Film Festival: Best Film and Best Story-Screenplay.
According to festival director Munindra Gupta, “The Shunyatam International Film Festival is intended to inspire makers with the best of original stories and characters from around the world, across genres.” The key is originality, whether in Indian or international cinema. We’re thrilled that Stranger By The Hill was recognised as the best film and best screenplay at the festival.
In the picturesque hills of Manali, Mahi, an enthusiastic young traveler, meets Angad, an engaging young educator. The two of them hit it off right away, and they end up having a steamy one-night stand.
However, the events of that night quickly spiral out of control, trapping Mahi in a web of uncertainty. Will she ever be able to escape the dark side of love?
