Surat | Gujarat — The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center have jointly organized a three-day long Surat International Textile Expo-2026’ (SITEX-2026) at SIECC, Sarsana in Surat starting from February 21.
SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said, “This exhibition is the 13th of the ‘SITEX’ series and the second exhibition to be organized in a single year. The main objective of this very ambitious exhibition of the Chamber is to give a new direction and momentum to the textile industry of Surat at the global level. This exhibition for textile technology and machinery directly benefits the developing textile industry of Surat.”
The SITEX exhibition will showcase world-class textile machinery, some of which will be launched and displayed for the first time in the world and in India in this expo in Surat. This will further strengthen the identity of Surat in the textile industry and will become a center of attraction for buyers, manufacturers and technology experts from the country and abroad.
Former SGCCI president Vijay Mewawala said, “Technology in textile machinery is being upgraded. Position printing machine, position embroidery machine, high speed rapier loom, high speed airjet loom, high speed waterjet loom will be exhibited at the SITEX exhibition in Surat. Along with this, velvet airjet machinery will be exhibited. The latest model of airjet, waterjet and rapier machinery will be exhibited at the expo. Most of the airjet machines are cotton based, but airjet machines producing viscose and polyester will also be exhibited in this exhibition”
Union Minister of Water Resources of India and Chairman of Surat Airport Committee CR Paatil will inaugurate the exhibition, while Rajesh Gandhi, Senior Vice President of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry will grace the occasion as the special guest.
Weavers associations from all over India, including Surat, South Gujarat, have been invited to visit the CTEX Exhibition. Online registration of more than 15,000 visitors has also been received. More than 25,000 people associated with the textile industry across India from more than 150 cities will visit the CTEX exhibition.
Earlier, a large space of about 20 feet height was required in the factory to install Jacquard looms, due to which it was difficult for small and medium entrepreneurs to install such machinery. But the latest Jacquard looms to be displayed in this exhibition have been designed in such a way that they can be installed in a limited height of just 7 feet in the factory and production can be achieved efficiently.
Due to this compact design, in addition to saving space, the installation of the machinery will be easy, energy and operating costs will be reduced and it will be possible to produce high-quality Jacquard fabric even for small manufacturing units. According to experts, such machinery, which provides more efficient production in less space, will prove to be extremely beneficial for the textile industry, especially for the industrialists working in the densely populated industrial areas of the city.
A total of 110 exhibitors from Surat, New Delhi, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Thane, Panipat, Kolhapur, Pune, Dadra, Bhilwara and Valsad have participated in the CTEX Exhibition. These exhibitors will showcase the world’s most advanced technology machinery and accessories. We have received a very good response from exhibitors from all sectors of the textile industry.
A historic milestone for the textile industry, a world’s first four-sheet high-speed rapier jacquard machine with a length of 490 centimeters will be launched at SITEX Expo. A two-sheeter machine was developed in Surat during 2009-10, which made it possible to produce two sarees at a time. Then in 2015, a three-sheet rapier jacquard machine came into the market, which made it possible to produce three sarees at a time. Currently, only three-sheet machines are in operation worldwide, so the four-sheet advanced rapier jacquard machine to be launched for the first time in Surat is considered important for the textile industry.
This high-speed rapier jacquard machine will make it possible to produce four sarees at a time, as a result of which manufacturers are likely to increase their production capacity and reduce production costs by about 25 percent. It is hoped that higher production and lower costs will help the textile industry become stronger in global competition.
In addition, high-tech airjet machinery has also been included in the SITEX expo. Currently, an airjet machine priced at around $ 13,000 is available in the international market, while the high-speed airjet machine to be presented at the expo will be available at a price of around $ 9,500. A live demo of this machine will also be presented, due to which manufacturers will get an opportunity to get acquainted with more efficient and faster technology at a lower cost.
This exhibition will showcase new and cutting-edge technology in the field of modern textile printing and machinery. Models of new position printer machines (8 and 16 head variants) based on the selectable head equipped with AI software will be presented. New position embroidery machinery will also be exhibited. Apart from this, foil machine models and various variants of direct-to-fabric printer machines with 16, 24, 32, 48, 64 and 96 heads will also be showcased, which are suitable for high-quality and large-scale printing.
The expo will also showcase an advanced range of circular knitting machines. It includes a single jersey circular knitting machine (34 diameter × 28 gauge × 102 feeders) with an open width capable of working at high speeds of 30 to 45 rpm. In addition, a double jersey circular knitting machine (34 diameter × 28 gauge × 108 feeders) will also be showcased, which includes advanced features like infrared needle breakage detector and stitch length meter, which help in increasing the quality and efficiency of the product.
The SITEX exhibition will provide textile industry entrepreneurs, manufacturers and technology enthusiasts with an important opportunity to learn about new generation machinery and printing solutions and to understand modern production capabilities closely. Thus, the SITEX Expo will prove to be an important platform for innovation, efficiency and cost-saving technologies in the textile machinery sector.
