Shri Bahuchar Mata Chowk Renovated at Bhulabhai Park; Rooster Sculpture Made from 2000 kg Waste Metal Unveiled

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], March 06: Shri Bahuchar Mata Chowk, located opposite the Navapura Bahucharaji Temple near Bhulabhai Park in Ahmedabad, has been beautifully renovated. The renovation work was undertaken with the support of Dr. Jagdish Rana, Eye Surgeon at Parth Eye Hospital, located in Bhulabhai Park. On this occasion, a unique rooster sculpture made from 2000 kg of waste metal was unveiled.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jagdish Rana of Parth Eye Hospital said , “This initiative is not just about beautifying a public space, but also about promoting responsibility towards society and nature. Our scriptures teach us to use the resources given by God with a spirit of renunciation and gratitude. Every element of nature carries the presence of the divine, so it should be used without greed and with humility. With this spirit, the rooster sculpture has been created by reusing waste metal.”
The event was attended by Shri Devang Dani, Honorable Chairman of the Standing Committee, Shri Dineshbhai Makwana, Honorable Member of Parliament, Shri Dharmendra Shah, Former Chairman of AUDA, and Shri Bhushanbhai Bhatt, among other dignitaries.
As part of the renovation, the chowk has been aesthetically redesigned, with the striking rooster sculpture installed at its center becoming a major attraction. According to religious beliefs, the rooster is considered the sacred and beloved vehicle (vahan) of Shri Bahucharaji Mata, giving the sculpture not only artistic value but also deep spiritual significance. Notably, the sculpture has been created using 2000 kg of recycled waste metal, conveying a strong message about environmental awareness and sustainability.
The Navapura Bahucharaji Temple is widely revered, attracting devotees not only from Ahmedabad but also from across Gujarat and various parts of the country. Since the rooster symbolizes the divine vehicle of the Goddess, the renovation of the chowk showcasing this symbol has generated great enthusiasm among devotees visiting the temple.
The renovation has enhanced the beauty of the area while also strengthening the religious and cultural identity of the place. The initiative stands as a meaningful example of urban beautification, environmental consciousness, and community participation in the city.
