SGCCI & IMA Launch Health Awareness Programs for Industrial Workers in Surat

Surat | Gujarat — The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) will organise special awareness programs to improve health of industrial workers and their families in Surat and South Gujarat region. This initiative has been launched on the occasion of the 100th National Conference of the Indian Medical Association which will be held in Gandhinagar on December 26, 27 and 28, 2025.
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a meeting with the National President of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Shri Anil Nayak and the President of Gujarat State IMA Dr. Mehul Shah
SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that the 100th National Conference of the Indian Medical Association will be held in Gandhinagar on December 26, 27 and 28, 2025. Under which, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Indian Medical Association will jointly give priority to the health of industrial workers and their families of Surat and South Gujarat and special awareness programs will be organized to improve their health.
The SGCCI and the Indian Medical Association will go to the industrial area and organize programs for breast cancer awareness, cervical cancer awareness, non-communicable disease prevention and TB awareness. Along with this, TB patients from the industrial area will be adopted and nutrition kits will be distributed to them along with regular treatment.
In addition, health check-ups will be conducted and guidance will be given to industrial workers to prevent problems like blood pressure, diabetes and obesity (weight gain). The main objective of this campaign is to encourage industrial workers and their families towards a healthy lifestyle and to make South Gujarat stronger in the health sector.
Under the SGCCI Global Connect, information about the 100th National Conference of the Indian Medical Association will be sent to 85 countries and they will be requested to promote medical tourism. One-to-one meetings will be held with the representatives of the countries who will participate in this National Conference and efforts will be made to increase bilateral trade between the two countries and develop medical tourism.
