Surat | Gujarat —- The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI)  organized a session on ‘Decoding Today’s Youth – How to Handle Social Media Overview’ where Ajay Tomar (Joint President of Adani Group and Group Head – Cadre Excellence and Leadership Development and retired Director General of Police (IPS – 1989) of Gujarat Cadre) provided detailed guidance on the use of social media among the youth.

SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that in today’s digital era, social media has become an important part of the lives of the youth. The use of social media is increasing rapidly among the youth, hence this program was organized to create awareness about its proper and balanced use.

Social media as a powerful tool of connectivity Media has emerged, but its excess can also have a negative impact on a person’s behavior, attention and lifestyle, hence he encouraged the youth to set time limits while using social media, adopt a digital detox and be more active in real life.

Tomar stressed on the need to provide proper guidance to students, stating that the role of parents and teachers is also important regarding the use of social media. He said that the family and educational institutions will also have to provide proper guidance to the youth and direct their energy and time towards constructive activities.
