Foundation invites hospitals, universities, clinicians, industry partners, researchers and philanthropic organizations to collaborate in building a scalable model for early diagnosis. Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 1: Sanmon Foundation has announced the development of a new initiative aimed at improving access to early diagnosis in underserved communities through portable point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), standardized clinical protocols, education, and ethically governed research. Across India, many patients living in rural and resource-limited settings continue to present with advanced cardiovascular and vascular disease because access to timely diagnostic imaging remains limited. The Foundation believes that portable diagnostic technologies, when implemented responsibly with appropriate clinical oversight, have the potential to shorten the time between symptoms and diagnosis. The initiative seeks to create a collaborative model that combines community-based screening with expert interpretation, structured referral pathways, clinical education, and high-quality research. Rather than functioning as isolated health camps, the program aims to build a sustainable framework that can be evaluated, refined, and expanded over time. Initially, the program will focus on cardiovascular and vascular health, with potential applications including basic cardiac assessment, peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, carotid disease, and selected pulmonary applications using portable ultrasound under standardized protocols. Recognizing that diagnostic accuracy and patient safety are paramount, the Foundation intends to establish strong governance structures from the outset, including expert clinical oversight, standardized image acquisition protocols, secure data management, ethical approvals where applicable, and appropriate referral mechanisms for patients requiring further evaluation. Beyond direct patient care, the initiative also aims to generate real-world evidence that can inform future healthcare delivery, education, and responsible innovation in portable diagnostics. “Early diagnosis should not depend on where a person lives,” said Dr. Sweta Sahu, Founder of Sanmon Foundation. “We believe portable diagnostic technologies, combined with clinical expertise and ethical implementation, can help bridge important gaps in healthcare access. This initiative is not about replacing specialists—it is about bringing patients into the healthcare system earlier, when intervention may have the greatest impact.” Sanmon Foundation is inviting collaboration from: • Medical colleges and universities • Teaching hospitals • Cardiologists, vascular surgeons, radiologists and emergency physicians • Portable ultrasound manufacturers and medical device innovators • Public health organizations and NGOs • Artificial intelligence and health technology researchers • Corporate CSR partners and philanthropic organizations • Medical students and healthcare volunteers The Foundation envisions this initiative evolving into a collaborative platform where clinical care, education, research, and responsible innovation work together to improve diagnostic access for underserved populations. Organizations interested in partnering, supporting pilot projects, contributing expertise, or exploring collaborative research are encouraged to connect with the Sanmon Foundation. About Sanmon Foundation Sanmon Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equitable healthcare through preventive health initiatives, research, education, innovation, and community partnerships. The Foundation works to improve access to evidence-based healthcare solutions for underserved populations while fostering collaborations between clinicians, researchers, academic institutions, and industry.
