Surat : In a dramatic turn of events, the Mumbai Crime Branch successfully recovered two pistols thrown into the Tapi river in Surat by the accused who fired outside Salman Khan’s house in Mumbai. The incident, which unfolded in a series of calculated maneuvers, led investigators on a two-day expedition to trace the weapons used in the reckless act.

The accused, identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, made a desperate attempt to dispose of the incriminating evidence by hurling the firearms into the deep waters of the Tapi river during a video call with an individual named Anmol Bishnoi. Undeterred, law enforcement swiftly mobilized a search operation in collaboration with local authorities in Surat.

Equipped with two boats and two divers, the Mumbai Crime Branch led by encounter specialist Daya Nayak meticulously combed the Tapi river, aided by cameras fitted on the divers to monitor underwater movements and track the pistols. Their exhaustive efforts bore fruit when a pistol was retrieved from the river’s depths on Monday, followed by the discovery of another pistol on Tuesday.

Prior to their attempt to discard the weapons, the accused journeyed from Mumbai to Surat, with intentions to board a train to Bhuj. Foiled in their plans, they resorted to hiring an autorickshaw, directing the driver towards a river bridge with minimal traffic, where they believed they could dispose of the pistols discreetly.

However, fate intervened as the auto driver instead navigated them to the Ashwani Kumar crematorium, situated adjacent to the Tapi railway bridge. Undeterred by the change in plans, the accused proceeded along a walkable path beside the railway track until they reached the midpoint of the river, where they initiated the fateful video call to Anmol.

The recovered pistols serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation into the incident outside Salman Khan’s residence. Authorities are now working to piece together the motive behind the brazen act and identify all individuals involved.
