Surat | Gujarat — Reinforcing its commitment to workplace safety and employee well-being, Adani Hazira Port Limited celebrated the 55th National Safety Day and National Safety Week 2026 with enthusiasm and active participation from employees and associates. The week-long celebration at Hazira in Surat highlighted the importance of building a strong safety culture across all operations.
The programme revolved around this year’s theme: “Connect, Educate and Empower People to Increase Safety.”
‘Safety Is a Culture, Not Just a Process’
The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Safety Council flag by Chief Operating Officer Pankaj Uke, who stressed the organisation’s “Zero Harm” vision.
“Safety is not just a process but a culture that must be practiced every day,” he said, urging employees to make safety a shared responsibility. He added that the ultimate goal remains ensuring that every employee reaches home safely.
Week Filled with Awareness and Engagement
Throughout the week, the port organised a wide range of activities designed to engage employees and spread awareness about workplace safety.
Key initiatives included:
Online safety quizzes and competitions
Slogan and poster-making contests
Hazard spotting exercises
Spot safety recognition awards
Experts were invited to conduct sessions on stress management, mental health and heart health, underlining the organisation’s focus on both physical and psychological well-being.
A special health awareness workshop was also organised for women employees and their families, encouraging a holistic approach to safety and health.
The celebrations concluded with a closing ceremony where winners of various competitions were felicitated. A Nukkad Natak performance delivered a powerful message on safety awareness, leaving a lasting impression on participants.
The management expressed gratitude to all departments and associates for making the initiative a success. The event reaffirmed the port’s commitment to continuously improving safety standards and fostering a proactive safety culture.
