Rajkot : Rajkot Police Commissioner, Raju Bhargav, took swift action by suspending Sub Inspector K S Bhagora from the Pradyumannagar police station following grave consequences of his inaction. This move comes after a distressing incident involving the rape of a minor girl by a private financier and accomplices due to alleged negligence on the part of the PSI.

The arrest of private financier Hakubha Khiyani and his sons by Rajkot’s ‘B’ division police shed light on the horrifying incident. The trio stands accused of kidnapping and assaulting a minor girl in the presence of her own family. This shocking development has stirred outrage within society, exacerbated by a prior incident where the victim’s elder sister attempted suicide on October 18th, citing harassment by Hakubha, his son, and their associates in her complaint.

The sequence of events began with a criminal complaint filed against Hakubha and others at the Pradyuman Nagar police station. The investigation into this complaint fell under the purview of PSI K S Bhagora, who, regrettably, failed to apprehend the accused. Despite the looming threat and intimidation tactics employed by Hakubha to coerce the victim’s family into withdrawing their complaint, Bhagora did not take necessary action to arrest the accused.

Tragically, two days later, Hakubha lured the victim’s family under the guise of reaching a compromise. Instead, in a horrifying turn of events, Hakubha and his sons reportedly assaulted and raped the minor girl in the presence of her family members. Subsequently, the victim’s family lodged a formal complaint of rape with the B division police station.

Outraged residents have pointed fingers at the Pradyuman Nagar police, asserting that timely action against Hakubha might have prevented this heinous crime.
