Surat : Mohit Gadhia and Priya Gadhia, the dynamic couple behind Raja Rani Coaching, have become renowned figures in the Indian entrepreneurial landscape. Having trained over 70,000 students in sewing across India in the last two years, the Gadhias have not only empowered thousands but have also revolutionized the way small businesses leverage social media. Their insights were recently shared at a seminar titled ‘Social Media – A Tool for Economic Empowerment,’ organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) in Surat.

The seminar, which attracted a large audience of entrepreneurs from Surat and the surrounding regions, highlighted the growing importance of social media as a powerful tool for business development. SGCCI Vice President Nikhil Madrasi emphasized how social media platforms have particularly benefited women entrepreneurs, enabling them to start and grow online businesses with minimal resources. He noted that over 67 percent of Indian MSME entrepreneurs now use social media for marketing, which has led to a 43 percent increase in product sales.

The Gadhia couple, who recently gained national attention by participating in Shark Tank India to secure funding for their business expansion, provided Surat’s entrepreneurs with actionable insights into how they can harness the power of social media for their own ventures. They also shared their ongoing efforts to set a Guinness World Record, further showcasing their ambition and commitment to growth.

In their address, Mohit and Priya Gadhia stressed the importance of targeting the right audience on social media platforms. They advised entrepreneurs to focus their efforts on reaching individuals who are genuinely interested in their business, rather than casting a wide net. They differentiated between organic and non-organic promotion methods, advocating for the former as a more sustainable approach to business development. According to them, businesses built organically through genuine engagement are more likely to succeed in the long term.

The Gadhias also delved into the nuances of content creation for social media, explaining that different types of content—such as reels, scripts, and posts—serve different purposes. They emphasized the need for content to be relevant and tailored to the specific platform and audience. Furthermore, they introduced the concepts of “business following” versus “professional audience,” helping entrepreneurs understand how to cultivate a meaningful and effective online presence.

Sharing his personal journey, Mohit Gadhia recounted how he transitioned from a modest beginning in the clothing and design business to becoming a successful entrepreneur. Starting with a boutique run alongside his sister-in-law, Mohit’s initial lack of design knowledge led him to learn sewing, despite being the only man among 70 women in his class. This experience not only honed his skills but also ignited his passion for teaching others. Today, Raja Rani Coaching uses social media to educate thousands of students across the country in sewing, empowering them to become self-reliant.
