Surat : The dynamic political journey of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, encapsulated in the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, made its mark in Gujarat as it crossed over from Rajasthan into the vibrant state on Thursday.

Continuing its onward journey, the yatra embarked on the second day in Gujarat, traversing from Dahod town to Godhra in the Panchmahal district on Friday, where Gandhi addressed the public, highlighting key issues and engaging with the local populace.

Before resuming the journey, Gandhi also paid homage to tribal leader Govind Guru at Kamboi Dham near Jhalod, underscoring the yatra’s commitment to honoring local heroes and traditions. Following Godhra, the yatra is scheduled to proceed to Halol town, with a night halt planned at Jambughoda village in the district.

Welcomed with fervor and enthusiasm, the yatra reached Jhalod town in Dahod around 4:45 pm, marking a significant moment in the state’s political landscape. Leading figures including Gujarat Congress in-charge Mukul Wasnik, state unit president Shaktisinh Gohil, and leader of the opposition Amit Chavda, along with other party members, extended a warm welcome to Gandhi.

Adding a collaborative spirit to the event, AAP’s state unit president Isudan Gadhvi and leader Gopal Italia remained present on the invitation of the state Congress. This gesture reflects the broader cooperation between the two parties, who are set to join forces in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat as part of the I.N.D.I. Alliance.

Covering a distance of 6,700 kilometers from ‘Manipur to Mumbai’, the yatra will span across seven districts in Gujarat, renowned for their significant tribal population. According to Manish Doshi, spokesperson for the state Congress, during the four days in Gujarat, Gandhi will address six public meetings, conduct 27 corner meetings, and interact with supporters at over 70 locations, amplifying the party’s message and connecting with grassroots communities.

The yatra’s route encompasses Dahod, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Tapi, Surat, and Navsari districts before crossing over into Maharashtra at Navagam on the evening of March 10, marking a comprehensive outreach effort across diverse regions.

Despite initial challenges faced by the state Congress, including the resignation of several MLAs, the yatra signifies a renewed vigor and determination to engage with the people of Gujarat, laying the groundwork for a dynamic political landscape ahead.
